For Hoecst staining, tissue was washed in PBS, blocked in 2% BSA, 0.1% Triton X-100, washed and stained using Hoecst (Thermo Fisher 1:2000)
I usually use these in larger lakes off a downrigger, but there is no reason they wouldnt be effective on a small lake stocked recently with Rainbow Trout
